We had an awesome Prelim #6 at Dogwood Nashville. We heard lots of good songs! Our music industry judges winner, Seth Mills had come out to every round this series to compete, and he finally won a round! We had a gal from Alabama win the audience vote.

Billy Lee has a long history in the music business, having been a musician, songwriter, audio engineer, and much more!
Billy was a member of Millenium Recording Label’s rock band “Myth”
Billy signed a major label development and touring deal, opening for such acts as Rick Springfield, Duran Duran, Buddy Miles and Rick Danko (of “The Band”).
Billy had his first publishing deal with Major Key Music in the mid 90s and had written and performed with some great writers and writers Including:

Blue Miller (Silver Bullet Band , India Ari, Gibson Miller Band)

Billy was also signed to Skyline Music as a writer/producer. Skyline was owned and run by Nashville famed producer Paul Worley (Dixie Chicks, Lady Antebellum, Martina McBride)
Billy has had many of his songs cut, but his biggest accomplishment is “THE ONE” recorded by Gary Allan.
“The One” was on the top 40 for 49 weeks making it one of the longest runs for a single and reached record airplay and video play. “The One” received the CMA and ASCAP award for “most played song of the year” and has been cut on 3 Gary Allan records so far.
Billy worked in the pop rock and dance genre as producer/writer/engineer. Working with such artists as Meshell Ndegeocello, Tom Peterson (cheap trick) and engineering and mastering tracks for Spike Lee’s movies Crooklyn and Malcom X , along with engineer Larry DeCarmine.
He also mastered and mixed the album “Blacker Than That” and “In Living Colors” smash hit, “Cult of Personality” for the Black Rock Coalition.
Billy was the sound producer for Tito Puente’s – Festival Latino tour
You can also hear Billy as a vocalist in such jingles as Carnival Cruises, Crown Beer, Newmark and Lewis, CBS and Pizza Hut.
As a guitarist Billy performed nationally and overseas, most notably as a solo artist and also along with rocker Laura Theodore, Judi Dozier (Billy Idol band). He also toured with Grammy award winning reggae band “Toots and the Maytals”.
Charles Esten’s song “Down at the Lost and Found” was co written by Billy and was on the Top play charts in The UK.
